Discord AutoMod ​

Discord AutoMod allows Bulwark to manage and synchronize Discord's built-in Auto Moderation system directly from the dashboard.

Instead of relying entirely on custom moderation logic, Bulwark can create and manage native Discord AutoMod rules for maximum performance and reliability.

What is Discord AutoMod? ​

Discord AutoMod is Discord's built-in moderation system that can automatically detect and block harmful content.

Bulwark provides a simple interface for configuring these rules without leaving the dashboard.

Navigate to:

Features ​

Mention Spam Protection ​

Automatically blocks messages containing excessive mentions.

Block specific words, phrases, domains, or terms.

Discord provides built-in content filters.

Profanity ​

Blocks common profanity and inappropriate language.

Sexual Content ​

Slurs ​

Blocks known hate speech and offensive slurs.

Enable all presets for public communities.

Spam Detection ​

Discord AutoMod can automatically detect spam messages.

Examples include:

  • Repeated messages
  • Mass message spam
  • Automated spam behavior

Actions ​

Discord AutoMod supports the following actions.

Block Message ​

Prevents the message from being sent.

Sends an alert message to a moderation channel.

Specify where Discord AutoMod alerts should be sent.

Unsupported Actions ​

Some moderation actions are not supported by Discord AutoMod.

User Timeout ​

Discord does not currently support automatic timeout actions through the AutoMod rules used by Bulwark.

Alternative ​

for automated timeout and punishment systems.

Rule Synchronization ​

When settings are saved, Bulwark automatically creates or updates native Discord AutoMod rules.

No manual setup inside Discord is required.

Synced Rules ​

The dashboard displays the status of every AutoMod rule.

Status Types ​

Synced ​

Rule exists and is active.

Not Synced ​

Rule has not been created yet.

Error ​

Discord rejected the rule configuration.

Requirements ​

Bulwark requires the following permissions:

Manage Auto Moderation Rules

Without these permissions, Bulwark cannot create or update AutoMod rules.
